Hardware and Software Requirements
The tix/SYS software will run on any IBM PC compatible computer capable of running
Microsoft Windows 95 or later and works with all popular local-area network operating systems. The recommended
minimum computer configuration is a Pentium 166Mhz computer with 16 megabytes of RAM, 40 megabytes free hard-disk
space, high-density floppy drive, and VGA monitor (colour preferred). It can also run on Macintosh computers when
using a Windows emulator such as VirtualPC.
tix/SYS can print tickets using either laser-printer or in-line thermal printers.
All popular thermal ticket printers are supported including Bocca, Datamax, Eltron, Genicom and others. The
tix/SYS laser ticket printing technology uses ticket stock that is far less expensive
than conventional thermal stock and it produces very high-quality tickets. We can provide generic laser stock at an
average cost of about 2.3 cents per ticket and can have specific information (sponsor logos and such) printed on the
back of the tickets.
In-line thermal printing is convenient and fast but more costly. However, in situations where many customers
purchase small quantities of tickets - an average of less than four tickets per order - it is the preferred method.
tix/SYS will work on a single computer, or with multiple terminals printing tickets
and can operate any number of remote box offices connected to the network at the main box office via modem links,
or high-speed Internet connection. The system will also accommodate remote box offices that are not on-line and
allows for sales from these remote box offices to be merged into the main system as required.
We understand that your box office is mission-critical to your organization and that downtime is unacceptable.
tix/SYS is a robust box office management system designed with total reliability
in mind. By applying state-of-the-art technology and helping you implement proven management procedures, we ensure
that your up-to-the-minute data is safe and always accessible.
