Barcode Subsystem
tix/SYS can be configured to print a system-unique barcode on tickets, passes and vouchers.
The ticket stubs retained at the venue can then be scanned with a hand-held barcode reader at the venue, or batched for
scanning later (typically at the box office). The data collected from the scanner is then uploaded into the system and
ensures superior accuracy in recording the number and types of tickets and passes presented at the venue. It also allows
you to determine precisely which tickets and vouchers printed by the system were in fact redeemed.
Using a barcode reader to scan tickets at the venue allows the venue manager to know at a glance the number of patrons
who have entered the venue and the number of seats remaining. It also alerts the ticket-taker if a pass or ticket has
been used more than once to gain entrance and even identifies lost or stolen passes and tickets.
Printing barcodes on passes is also useful when pass-holders are required to obtain a hard-ticket for shows they wish to see.
The box office clerk simply scans the pass into the system rather than entering the patron's information manually.
This increases the speed and accuracy of data-entry and tracks the tickets printed for each pass-holder.
